editing
Editing plays a HUGE part in the overall look and feel of your final media. It's our commitment to deliver a consistent style, aesthetic, and feel to your images and videos with the tools and techniques we've mastered over the years..and yes, it takes more than just a filter to bring your wedding media to life! Just like baking the best cake you've ever tasted, there is a set of ingredients and a special process that we use to replicate beautiful wedding imagery, time and time again. We want to give you some insight into our processes and capabilities to ensure transparency about what can be achieved with your media.
Our Photo Process
Your photographer will be taking what we call "RAW" images with their camera during the wedding day. Without getting too technical, these images are large files that have the most flexibility to manipulate colors, contrast, etc. RAW images look very flat, unsaturated and dull to start out with, but with the right software and "ingredients," we bring your images to life to create our signature Ivory Grove style that you'll love 50 years from now.

RAW vs Edited
Once your wedding is over, your photographer will upload the RAW images to our secure online servers, where they are sent to our editing team for processing. Our team handles all post-production, focusing on color correction during the initial edit to create polished and timeless images.

We embrace a "true to life" editing style because we believe it delivers the most beautiful and authentic results. All the photos on our website and Instagram feed are consistent with this style. Achieving a specific style involves so much—it’s influenced by factors like the photographer’s camera settings and intricate adjustments across various editing elements like saturation, contrast, and hues. For this reason, we don’t take special requests to replicate editing styles from other photographers or Pinterest boards. That said, we’re always happy to touch up or re-edit photos if something feels off. Your satisfaction means everything to us, and we’re committed to ensuring you love your photos!
After the initial edit is complete, if there are images that you'd like something taken out of, a blemish, etc., we will ask for the specific file names and correct those afterward. Please note that editing has limitations, but we will try our very best to fulfill your requests.
Once everything is color edited, your photos will go through our QA process & put the final touches on your deliverables. We will send you the link to your final edited media in an email. We'll also text you so you know to look for it. We have this page that explains the delivery and how you'll access everything.

Our Highlight Video Process
Your videographer will be capturing what we call "RAW Footage" with their cameras and "RAW Audio" with external mics during your wedding day. Without getting too technical, this file format allows the most flexibility to manipulate colors, apply enhancements, contrast, etc. RAW footage can look very flat, unsaturated, and dull to start out with, but with the right software and "ingredients," we bring your footage to life into a highlight film. The videographer films the wedding day based on your timeline, usually starting with the preparations (getting ready) and continuing through key events like the ceremony, reception, and dancing. This raw footage will be the foundation for the highlight film and the videographer will use a mix of slow-motion and real-time recording. We prioritize getting the best footage for the highlight film. Visit our portfolio page to see examples of our highlight films.
*Raw footage time will be much less than your total coverage hours because we are NOT continuously recording the whole time. We focus our efforts on getting the right clips for your highlight and teaser films. Your raw footage is not meant to be a documentary-style film with every single moment of the day recorded. The footage will be a mix of real-time and slow motion. Slow-motion footage gives us the greatest flexibility in editing the highlight video. If you would like a documentary-style edit that provides more continuous coverage such as a full ceremony or speeches we are happy to provide that for you. However, additional videographers are required, and this offering is an additional cost and subject to availability. Contact us for more information.*
When your wedding is over, your videographer will upload the RAW files to our online servers and we send them over to our editing team to color grade (video version of color editing) and edit (putting together the clips and audio to music.) Our editing team takes care of all post-production of your final highlight film and deliverables. Here’s how your highlight film is typically made:

-
Reviewing and Organizing: After the wedding, the editing team sorts through all the raw footage to identify the most meaningful and visually stunning moments—like the vows, first kiss, and special dances. They’ll also look for candid shots, emotional reactions, and key interactions.
-
Selecting Music: The next step is to apply songs that fit the mood and vibe of the wedding. The music sets the tone and helps tell the story, so the songs are chosen to complement the footage and the couple’s preferences. More info on song selections can be found here.
-
Editing: The editor will then piece together the selected clips, syncing them to the music/audio, and create a compelling, emotional narrative. The goal is to highlight the best moments in a way that flows smoothly and keeps the viewer engaged. This may involve:
-
Cutting out less important or repetitive footage.
-
Adding transitions and effects (like slow motion) for emotional impact.
-
Using soundbites, such as vows, speeches, or laughter, to bring the film to life.
-
Color grading to make the footage look polished and cohesive.
-
-
Final Touches: After the main highlights are assembled, the editor will fine-tune the video by adjusting audio levels, smoothing transitions, and making sure everything flows well together.
Once the wedding highlight film is complete, your film will go through our QA process & final touches will be made on your deliverables. We will send you the link to your final edited media in an email. We'll also text you so you know to look for it. We have this page that explains the delivery and how you'll access everything.
The final highlight video typically lasts anywhere from 4 to 10 minutes, depending on the package you selected. All of our standard video packages include the following:

Highlight Film: https://vimeo.com/1024535221
Teaser Video: https://vimeo.com/1024535621
RAW Footage: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/ipqslq8yt1630exju7wxg/ABoQw3pinc2vibvO6Y8i7PU?rlkey=bv0eejgc3dpp6vulfh4ckyovr&st=xv2f8sxa&dl=0
*Be advised that raw footage is "as-is" clips and may be in slow-motion, real-time, or a mix of both. RAW footage isn't meant to be anything in full. It isn't synchronized, edited, or color-graded. It may or may not have audio matched to it. All available audio files and movie clips will be included in the folder for you to access.
Documentary Style Films
If you want to sit back and watch certain parts of the day in full (ceremony, speeches, etc.) the Documentary Film add-on will be your best option to pair with your highlight video package. Our Documentary Film Add-Ons include a second videographer for 4 continuous hours to assist with capturing your events in full. If the events you want covered in full don't fit within the 4-hour window, we will need to add on additional hours to the second videographer. Your lead videographer will be with you based on the coverage hours you book with your highlight package. We can deliver your final film in two different styles:
Delivery Style 1 (Separate Videos)
Ceremony: https://vimeo.com/905808097
Dances: https://vimeo.com/872651736
Speeches: https://vimeo.com/872651696
Delivery Style 2 (Everything in one video)
https://vimeo.com/862533742
*If you select Delivery Style 2, we will not deliver a separate highlight and teaser video. With this option you will receive one video that combines the style of the highlight with the full coverage events in documentary style.
